Odin was a slimmed down one disk FreeDOS distribution.
Odin was maintained by Steve Nickolas.
8086 users! an updated package is available fdodin06.8088.zip which is identical the original 720KB floppy image except uses UPX --8086 so should correctly work on 8086 and up processors.

Download syslinux boot from https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/
Download FREEDOS from https://www.freedos.org/download/
1) boot the virtualbox
2) attach the FreeDOS 1.2 CD iso
3) run FDIMPLES
4) Select FDNET under the networking group and pick OK.
5) reboot.

- I got this error "invalid Opcode" during installation.
To fix: When you boot the FreeDOS install CD-ROM, at the first “Welcome to FreeDOS 1.2” boot screen, press the Tab key to edit the boot options. Add raw to the end of the command line, then press the Enter key to boot.
- After installation, run FDIMPLES choose FDNET choose WGET
- Reboot
- wget http:\\www.freedos.org
Error 3658: The IFSHLP.SYS driver is not installed.
Because FreeDOS use FDCONFIG.SYS that MSClient fail to modify, try
manually configure FDCONFIG.SYS to:
DEVICEHIGH=C:\NET\IFSHLP.SYS
